Comprised of cascading, glorious harmonies and impressive solo arias, Handel's Messiah tells the story of Jesus, from his humble beginnings to his victory over death in resurrection. The mighty work is perhaps best known for the Hallelujah Chorus, a consummate example of Baroque counterpoint and harmony, which has surfaced in pop culture and movies in modern times.
